Intrusion Prevention (IPS)

NSS Labs innovation in real-world testing provides clients with accurate empirical information about effectiveness, performance, manageability, and total cost of ownership of intrusion prevention systems. Current reports include:

NEW! Q3 2010 Palo Alto Networks PA-4020 Test Report (purchase required)
This report evaluates the PA-4020 in default and tuned configurations against 1,179 live exploits. All testing was conducted independently and was not paid for by the vendor.

Q4 2009 IPS Group and Individual Test Reports (purchase required)
Get comparative and product-specific results for 15 leading network IPS from Cisco, IBM, Juniper, McAfee, Sourcefire, Stonesoft, and TippingPoint. All testing was conducted independently and was not paid for by any vendor.

Security Update Monitor
NSS Labs also performs monthly IPS testing to make sure vendors keep up with ongoing vulnerability disclosures (e.g. Microsoft and Adobe "Patch Tuesdays", etc.), because test results can quickly become stale as threats evolve. Security Update Monitor is only available from NSS Labs.
