Our real-world test reports are available to subscribers. Our objective evaluations have been helping network and security professionals evaluate products for usage in their networks since 1991.
Types of Public Reports
Group Test ReportsComparative reports of multiple products tested against the same methodology at the same time, allowing an apples to apples comparison. Typical reports evaluate security effectiveness, performance, management, and stability.
Individual Test Reports/CertificationsIndividual test reports are based on our standard methodologies and offer an in-depth, stand-alone analysis of a given product. These reports may evaluate security effectiveness, performance, management, and stability at a deeper level than the typical group test report, and are often performed when a product has missed the deadline for a group test. Vendors may purchase reprint rights of tests after the fact, or pre-purchase the test and publication. Regardless, it is the same test.
Security Update Monitoring (SUM)This unique monthly service provides an up-to-date measurement of security effectiveness. Learn just which vendors are truly on top of "Patch Tuesday" and other critical vulnerabilities. Compares IPS vendors responses to the vulnerability disclosures made in the previous month.
Exposure Reports (ER)**New** from NSS Labs. These reports reveal exactly which attacks a product missed. Each report breaks down protection into categories by year, asset type attacked, and resulting impact (DoS, System or Service Exposure, etc), cross referenced by CVE and NSS ID. Now available for leading IPS products.
Custom Product Testing for EnterprisesConfidential testing & analysis of products performed for end-user organizations.
