In Q3 of 2008, NSS Labs performed comprehensive testing of the IBM ISS Proventia MX3006 appliance against our Unified Threat Management (UTM) testing methodology. This report contains the conclusions and associated data from a series of exacting tests performed on a device installed in our real-world test lab. This NSS Labs report provides readers with empirically validated evidence about a product’s features and capabilities.
The MX3006 breezed through NSS Labs' UTM certification, successfully passing 160 of 161 test requirements. The MX3006 blocked 94.2% of the 396 exploits targeting a wide range of target systems and protected against 95.6% of the tested malware.
