During the 2016 Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS) Group Test, Fortinet’s FortiGate 3000D (IPS engine v3.00166) failed attack leakage tests; the device did not properly maintain state under heavy load. This resulted in Fortinet receiving a Caution rating. Upon notification of the issue, Fortinet fixed the problem and submitted an update (IPS engine v3.00169) that resolved the issue experienced during the test. NSS Labs has tested the updated device and published this Test Report, which confirms resolution of the issue and provides updated performance and security effectiveness results.
