NSS Labs adds a Vice President of Marketing and two Research Directors to its team
AUSTIN, Texas – August 2, 2012 – NSS Labs, Inc., the leader in test-based research and analysis of information security products, today announced the addition of three key members in strategic areas of its organization.

John Trollinger joins NSS Labs as Vice President of Marketing where he will be responsible for corporate marketing, product marketing and inside sales. With over 15 years of security experience, Trollinger is a passionate network security professional with experience in building and marketing security products with respected companies such as Cisco and HP.

Listen to your customer, listen to your market – and try to solve the problems they face every day,” said John Trollinger, Vice President of Marketing, NSS Labs. A frequent speaker at security seminars and events, Trollinger has been quoted in magazines and international papers, as well as appeared on industry television shows. Prior to working in network security, he worked with the U.S. Department of Defense deploying military software programs and training staff in tri-service base clinics and hospitals worldwide.
“As NSS Labs has grown, our customers have asked us to add to our portfolio of tested technologies and continue development of our industry-leading methodologies,” said Vikram Phatak. “To meet this growing demand, we are pleased to also announce the addition of two key analysts to our team who are highly sought out leaders in their respective areas of expertise.”
Francisco Artes, a recognized top information security executive with over twenty years of experience in the field, has joined NSS Labs as a Research Director. Artes most recently served as Vice President, Chief Architect / Content Protection for Trace3, and as Vice President, Security Worldwide for Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, Inc. Having presented on six of the seven continents, Artes is known as a thought leader in information security and the protection of intellectual property around the globe.
Randy Abrams also joins NSS Labs as Research Director. Prior to joining NSS, he was the Director of Technical Education for six years at ESET, a global antivirus company. From 1993 to 2005, Abrams worked at Microsoft Corporation where he developed and managed the processes used by Microsoft to prevent their software from being released with malware. Abrams has presented at dozens of international security conferences and has served on the board of directors for the Association of Antivirus Asia Researchers since 2000.
