AUSTIN, Texas – September 24, 2015 – NSS Labs, Inc., the world’s leading security research and advisory company, is introducing a new application offering for the Cyber Advanced Warning System™ (CAWS) through the Spiceworks App Center. The App is being launched today during the annual North American SpiceWorld Event September 23 – 25 in Austin, Texas.
CAWS Community is the free version of Cyber Advanced Warning System that provides real-time insight into active exploits being used by adversaries, as well as specifically targeted assets including Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader, Adobe Shockwave; popular browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer; Apple iTunes and Quicktime; Java; Microsoft Office, Silverlight, Windows Media Player; Skype; VLC Media Player and more.
Once CAWS Community is installed within a customer’s instance of Spiceworks, users can query the Spiceworks database to correlate threats to actual assets within their organization that may be at risk or vulnerable to a cyber attack. Additionally, the integration enables the administrator to open a Help Desk ticket within Spiceworks for assets requiring remediation to complete the workflow.
“With Spiceworks as a strategic partner, NSS will be able to offer actionable cyber risk information to a very large number of IT professionals,” said Vikram Phatak, CEO of NSS Labs. “Today’s threat intelligence can be overwhelming for all but the largest of organizations. CAWS Community triages that data into today’s active exploits, and exactly which assets are in the crosshairs. The job of knowing where to focus precious IT security cycles each and every day just got easier,” added Phatak.
NSS will be demonstrating the App at SpiceWorld, Booth #14, in the Austin Convention Center.
