Given Android’s reputation for security, many in the security industry were surprised by the U.S. Department of Defense’s recent approval of the internal use of Knox-enabled Samsung devices running Android. How good is Samsung’s first attempt at delivering enterprise-ready Android devices, and how accessible are the Knox security features for those enterprises without a MDM infrastructure in place? This brief discusses whether Samsung Knox devices are considered viable alternatives in the enterprise market.
