The broad enterprise adoption of cloud services raises numerous security and compliance concerns. Existing security solutions will not provide the same level of protection when deployed in the cloud, which means new security tools and processes will be required to securely leverage cloud services. But cloud technologies can also provide security and compliance benefits, such as the ability for security controls to be defined and dynamically orchestrated on a per-machine and per-app or per-role basis. Certainly, thorny legal and governance issues are still being worked through, but the technology issues are becoming better understood and managed.
