Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s largest and most popular public cloud platform. Amazon has simplified security for its customers through various built-in and optional mechanisms, and security vendors are able to port their devices into the Amazon environment. Enterprises are shifting applications, data, and infrastructure to AWS, but what are the security implications of using this platform? This brief examines the advantages of AWS and also the challenges of moving to an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) environment.
